Capdase is slowly building a reputation as an innovative accessory manufacturer. The company's latest addition, the Soft Jacket, is a rubberized PSP suit with the unlikely addition of a hard UMD cover and front screen cover. Unfortunately, execution leaves the unique case lacking.

I was looking for a minimalistic approach to protecting my PSP when carrying around school, etc. The PGP was nice, but too bulky, and other silicon cases had no screen protection, so when I saw this it seemed like a good choice. The silicon feels nice, fits perfectly, and does not intrude on button use very much. I think it makes it a little harder to use the analog stick, but that is definetly more of a problem with the stick itself. I'm going to try one of the replacement sticks to alleviate this problem. My only complaint is that the screen is made of that lexan plastic crap that scratches so easily - less than a minute out of the box I had a huge scratch.
Also, this thing is expensive because it ships from Hong Kong. It's a great product, sure, and one of a kind as far as I can tell, but probably not worth the money unless you REALLY want it (like I did). Overall, I'm happy with it, though I will look for some way to purchase a replacement screen.

I got the black version and I think it looks great while on the PSP. I was previously using the standard soft case that came with the PSP and wanted something a little more permanent. I would get a PGP but I am a minimalist, and I really like the fact that the soft jacket adds very little weight or bulk to the PSP.
I usually just throw it in my pocket, so most people would expect massive amounts of lint and dust on it, but it really doesnt attract that much, and its very easy to wipe off and clean. You could easily take it off and run it under water if you wanted to, just make sure its dry before you put it back on.
In terms of protection, it provides the best protection in the silicon case department. Not only does it do a good job of protecting the outside parts of the PSP, but the included screen protector and UMD cover work extremely well. The only places that aren't protected are the buttons and ports, which is good because it allows for full functionality without having to take the case off.
I want to clear up some of the comments that people are leaving about this product. It doesn't cover any part of the screen, and if it does, it can be stretched and repositioned. It also does NOT cover any of the speaker holes. There are 2 open holes on the front and 2 on the bottom.
It does completely cover the bottom row of keys (volume, home, etc) but there are imprints of where they are and, at least I feel, are just as easily pushed as before.
I am rating it a 95 because it is the best in the silicon case department.

I have this cover. Although the concept is good and it does have the protective cover/screen built in. Neither the back plate or the screen protector is permenantly attached to the cover so it consistently falls off the unit. Not worth $15.

This is a very good product along with all the other Skin Grips. I don't have the Capdase, I have the Pelican. The skin grip adheres to the PSP - but it doesn't let you put it in a case, such as the Naki, PGP, or the Soft case. Good If you don't like cases, and the little wrist strap is convient with a cleaner on it.

I gotta say that this is one of the greatest silicone cases you can get for your PSP and at a fraction of any other competitor's price. It was a bit difficult to get it on at first but since then I stretched the case a bit so it's easier to get on and off. The only problem I've had with the case is the screen protector and the UMD drive area of the case. There's a defect on the case near the case near the UMD drive. Apparently one section of the case is a little too long so you have to lift that segment in order to allow the UMD drive to eject. I don't know why those people were complaining about the UMD cover falling out, when you attach the UMD cover the bottom silicone part that attaches to the UMD cover has to be fully inserted. There are excess silicone edges that is inputted and you have to pull those out so it fully blends with the cover.
Anyways onto the screen cover, mine came scratched and that I found odd seeing as it should have been fully protected in the packaging it came in. I guess it doesn't bother me since I will probably buy a second one, this time the white version and just give my brother the black version I got. I highly recommend this if you're in the market for a Silicone Case. It allows full functionality with access to everything on the PSP except the Irda port and Battery.

Just got this case today (in black) and it is fantastic. Fits the PSP like a glove and works just as advertised. The silicone material is nice and thick and feels great. Only negative I have to say is that the clear protective plastic screen cover that attaches to the front of the silicone case, arrived with several small scratches. Granted you don't see it when gaming in the dark, but I'm deducting points for it nonetheless, cause the scratching could have been prevented. The piece was just loose and flopping inside the clamshell case.

Overall, I am very pleased with this case. It looks great, feels great, protects 100%, and is extremely playable. I got black and it looks tough. Almost like Sony should have made a "sport" PSP like this in the first place.
First off, I will address a couple of criticisms.
Mine did not have the same problem as the other reviewer in regards to the case ripping. Although I did not try to cut it which doesn't really sound like a good idea anyway. It may be a problem with quality control but my case seems fine in that regard.
The material does not attract dust or hair like another poster suggested either. It is a slightly different material than the case I got for my ipod and feels smooth and dry as opposed to some tacky or sticky silicone cases I have felt. The feel is excellent. The fit is nice and this case protects 100% of your PSP while remaining 100% playable. In fact, I find the PSP is more comfortable to play while in the case.
My only gripe is that the screen protector was scratched slightly when I got it and seems to pick up scratches easier than it should. You don't see the scratches during gameplay and to not have to monkey with one of those film screen protectors is well worth the trade-off. Also, the protector simply connects to the case and is removeable.
The UMD cover takes a bit of getting used to. You need to pull it up and then over so that it catches on the little grooves in the silicone. It can also be removed if you feel its not necessary.
If you want to be able to put your PSP in something that looks and feels nice and not have to worry about it at all then this case is for you. I can hand this case to anyone and not have to worry about fingerprints or scratches on the screen or anything. That peace of mind, in my opinion, is worth it.

I just received this skin in black and right off the bat I had to trim a lip on the back that prevented the UMD door from opening. I'm taking the skin off carefully and the thing tears! It's not the same material that most of the rubber skins are made of and will tear very easily! You are warned!
