Namco ruled the arcades in the 80's. All of the games found in this collection are a testament to that. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Galaga and my personal fave, Rolling Thunder to name a few. Any old school gamer will not have any problems with a great compilation like this. The newer generation gamers will wonder what the fuss is all about, and probably will lose interest quickly due to the fact that these games dont have "great graphics" etc. These games helped shape the games that are available today. Alongside these great games are "arranged" remakes of classics such as Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaga and Rally X, and all 4 are really well done. They retain the greatness of the original games yet add a nice new twist with nicer graphics and nicer sound. Older gamers will love this for the nostalgic factor (classic compilations main selling point) and younger gamers will probably have some fun with this but more than likely will lose interest after awhile. Get this game if you truly like classic titles and at least check this out if your a casual gamer for there are some great games in there that still stand the test of time.

The load times were 4-6 seconds which is pretty quick, wouldn't really bother anyone. If you're playing classic games you don't really want great graphics but the arrangment games have great graphics except for Dig-Dug arrangement. Arrangement games are 4 of the classic games but with 3-D graphics. This game is really good if you're going to play for short periods of time. The great thing about this game is it has game sharing which is nice if one of your friends wantts to try out the game. The btter known games on this UMD are Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Dig-Dug, Rally-X, and New Rally-X. There are 21 games all together. So I think this game is worthwhile and it will keep you entertained for a very long time.

Let me first start off by saying that I like old school games. It gives me a sense of nostalgia playing the same games I wasted my quarters on in my childhood. That being said, I picked up this game a week ago. This retro gaming package includes 17 games; 13 classics (Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, King & Balloon, Galaga, Rally-X, New Rally-X, Bosconian, Dig Dug, Dig Dug II, Xevious, Mappy, The Tower of Druaga, Dragaon Buster, Grobda, Motos, Rolling Thunder) and 4 arranged versions (Pac-Man Arranged, Galaga Arranged, Rally-X Arranged, Dig Dug Arranged). Overall a pretty hefty lot to fill up some time or just plain enjoy leisurely.
Playability - 90
Of course this game will have infinite replayability. Pac-Man alone will keep you going. This game has such a wide selection of classic games to whet your appetite when the mood should strike but if you feel a bit on the modern side the arranged versions should do just fine. In the arranged Galaga there are 3-D images that get nearer as you progress further into the level. Pretty neat extra if you ask me. The arranged Pac-Man is fully 3-D, arranged Dig Dug is still side-scroller-ish but boosted graphics, and the arranged Rally-X contains a better dashboard display. Little else can be said about the playability of these games. They're the classics and some with a twist.
Load Times - 80
The load times are less than five seconds per load but it still bothered me how you still needed to load whenever you progressed a level in the arranged Galaga or Dig Dug. The levels should have been loaded every 5 levels or so. It sort of takes away from the overall experience but still not too big of a bother.
Graphics - (Classics: 100; Arranged 80):
The graphics for the classic games are still the same but then again don't fix it if it isn't broken. The arranged versions, however, were lacking. I feel as though Konami should have given this port a graphical boost in the "Arranged" department. Still pretty good looking, easy on the eyes.
Sound - 80
The classic bleeps and bloops that we have come to know and love but the arranged versions sound kept with the moods of the different games. Overall pretty clean and upbeat.
Overall Value - 85
This game keeps you entertained when you first pick it up and shall forever do so. The classics can never die and the arranged versions change the pace a bit whenever the mood strikes. I'm still having fun trying to beat my old Galaga scores from back in the arcade days. I would highly recommend buying or at least renting this game when you get the chance to. The price is a little steep though, I must admit. For $40 I feel like I should have gotten just a tad more than a port but if you are looking for addictiveness, memories, and nostalgia then this game is for you.

Just like some other PSP owners, okay, almost all PSP owners, who are itching for new games - I set out to purchase Namco Museum Battle Collection. I was pleasantly surprised to see a horde of classic games that reminds me of my yesteryear! And there are 4 new 'arranged' version of Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaga, and New RallyX.
I guess I'm a graphics addict that I found myself playing the new 'arranged' versions more. But either games, I tend to get involved in it that I just have to finish a level, then continue on until I realized how much time i've already 'wasted'. This game trully is a good past time for those quick PSP hunger pangs. If you already have the Namco Collection on your console, this may not be necessar, as it is basically a ported game.
However, if you enjoy getting into quick gameplays, or just challenging yourself with simple but entertaining games, games that revolutionalized the video gaming history/industry, this maybe worth checking out. Enjoy!

I didn't care for most of the titles that this game sported. I found myself playing Dig Dug 1 and 2 and Pacman, Ms. Pacman, and Pacman Arrangement. I just feel that this was a little overpriced for the games that came on the disc. I feel it would have sold better at $20. Now Midway on the other hand, is going to rock! But back to subject at hand -- Namco gets a passing 75. That's a D+.

This game is great for just some quick play fun. The graphics are all awesome and being able to rotate the screen is a great added feature. I will say that the fire button when I play Galaga is not quite fast enough though. Still a great game.

Well since the addition of the new games this one you are bound to enjoy if you like retro games. Fo those of you who werent even born in 1979 you may not enjoy this as much. (What can I say you have been spoiled. It's too bad that in the vertical mode the joystick and the controler are so close together, otherwise more games would be better in this mode. I love the fact that they have included rolling thunder. I was addicted to this in the arcades. One of my all time favs.
