I loved this item until it broke. Instructions warn not to overtighten the screws, so don't complain if you didn't read the manual. Nice, low profile and snug fit. Good for blocking glare. Convienent for dropping in a backpack or pocket for protection. But DON'T BELEIVE Pelican's product support claims. Once it broke at the hinge, they never responded after numerous attempts to contact them. Yeah, only $10 bucks... but if they don't stand behind their own claims of quality, it's not worth a dime.
I didn't abuse it, just appears it's not built to last. Therefore I will NEVER purchase another Pelican product in the future. Have be unable to find the "new" version in any stores even while traveling from the West Coast to the Southeastern US, but again I will not waste anymore money adding to the profits of a company that offers NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Screw 'em!!!

I had gone back and forth between cases and whatnot due to frequent travel and this has to be one of the best things I have bought. I can just toss the PSP in a pocket or a bag and it is protected! No more all in one cases for me!

I've had the face armor for almost two months now. And it's perfect. It's sleek and stylish. Adds a real nice touch to the PSP. Has a nice gloss black look to it to match the PSP. Gives the appearance of a flip open PSP. I've seen many people complaining about the screws being stripped out. So far I haven't had that problem. I carry my PSP in my pocket a lot of times so it's constantly being subjected to banging around. Lol my pockets are big enough to store my PSP, keys and cell in one pocket. And so far it's held up. Then again I don't take the face armor off at all.
The only problem I had with it when I first bought it was it covered the usb port a bit. It was a problem trying to hook up the usb cable. But a quick minor adjusment(little filing in that area) and the cable plugged in no problem. The screws do make it a little troublesome as far as being able to slide the PSP in and out of the main carry case for road trips. But over all I say it's a good product, plus the umd sleeves are a nice bonus. I reccomend buying it unless you plan on taking it off and putting it on all the time.

This thing was in the garbage about one minute after I opened it and put it on. The screen looked dull and was covered with air bubbles and dust. Get the Hori Protective Filter.

New version of the old face armor. This one doesn't include any disk jackets, but the design vastly improves on the old version. The hinge and screws are much higher quality insuring a much better fit and better durability. The main draw for this product is that the armor has a new hinge that spins it 180 degrees. This allows the lid to either be used to prop the PSP up (something like the playgear pocket) or folded back on the PSP making it slightly thicker and easier for people with bigger hands (like me). Also unlike the playgear pocket it is thin enough to place in an Intec hard case (or the like) and of course it only runs 9.00. The only drawback is that the interior has no padding. This isn't a big deal, I just took the neoprene off of my old broken face armor and just stuck it on. Overall a good improvement and a cheap alternative.

When it worked, it was great. After 4 weeks the right screw would no longer hold. After looking closer the screw appeared to be stripped and shorter than the other! Weird. Also, if the screws were too tight it would interfere w/ the UMD latch (wouldn't hold). Too bad.

Pelican's Face Armor is the vanilla ice cream of the PSP protector world. There are many other cases which are far more effective, far more durable and offer way more features. However, what the Face Armor claims so readily it does, it protects the PSP's face.
It is not shock resistant and feels flimsy. These are it's chief cons, it simply isn't durable to survive a fall or heavy jostling. But, it's thin profile and close fit make ideal for a book bag pouch or pocket.
The small form factor makes it useful in a cramped backpack. I use mine with pencils, pens and various pointy objects rolling about it. PSP is scratch-free and mint conditition.
Offers minimal protection, but if you have limited space in a padded bag it's great. Compared to the god-like Playgear Pocket it is a solid 80, yet for the cheap price and portability every PSP gamer should keep one in reserve. Two months and still in great working codition! However, I must add, do NOT over tighten the screws. This is the number one reason these things break!

I've had this item for about 2 weeks. Its actually been exactly what I was looking for except the annoyance of the screws being too long. I could use this and still put it in the soft PSP case from the value pack. Well last night it decided to pop off for no reason. I read up on the other reviews and decided that the problem was the left screw was stripped. The weird thing was that I could put it on backwards and it worked fine so I took the hinge assembly apart and switched the screws around and now it works great again. I like this product but it should have been like $5.00 not $10.00. I see now why they include the cases so you feel you have gotten more for your money.

The Pelican Face Armor may be good for the first week or two, but then the left screw gets really lose and will not go into the PSP any more. Second it is made of cheap plastic and can break very easily. I would recomend buying the core case rather than this because it is a hard case and it is only 10 dollars more including shipping.

I bought my PSP back in early december and noticed first thing that there was no face protection. I spent 2 or 3 days looking for a decent solution and found this face armor.
Personally, I love this face armor. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and when its attacked to the PSP it really looks like it was part of the thing to begin with.
It doesn't get in the way of plugging anyhting in, when in the 90 or 180 degree flip is allows full access to all the buttons, and the 4 UMD cases are a nice little bonus.
All in all, this is the perfect screen protection if you want something that you can just pop into your pocket and go. I carry my PSP around in my coat pocket with this face armor on it, and it hasn't broke.
A good buy for the $10 as you get decent face armor and 4 UMD cases.

I recently bought the Pelican Face Armor and disc jacket kit, and I was pretty pleased. The face armor protects the screen great, the other day I had my PSP in my cargo pants pocket and I accidentally swiped my PSP across the edge of my coffee table. If I didn't have the face armor my screen would've been gouged off because it was a hard hit. The only thing I didn't like about the armor was that the front of the armor (outer part of the screen) attracts every piece of dust possible. The disc jackets get a 100 because they work well and they protect the exposed part of the UMD.

I got this product at around the same time I got my PSP. At first it seemed great, I flipped it up 90 deg. so that it would block the sun and i'd flip it 180 deg. If I wanted it all the way down. That is untill the day that it broke. I flipped it up and *snap* the whole thing just broke. Now this was not due to excessive force on my part it was due to cheap manufacturing (trust me the mechanism for adjusting is no more than two pieces of plastic that contract and expand). Even if mine had lasted forever I would still be dissatisfied. This face armor is atttached to the PSP by two very large mettal screws that make it so that every time you want to connect your PSP to your computer via USB cable you must remove the armor. Over all I have come to believe Pelican is not a very reliable source (just look at this face armor and their screen protectors) to buy things from and untill they make a machine that can make actually make money grow on trees I will not be buying anything else from them.
Oh yea, the only reason I didn't give it a zero was because untill I bought my usb cable and before it broke it was a pretty good product.
50
I just bought it. I flip it up and down less than 10 times and one side of the hinge breaks. If I tighten the screw in, it jams theh UMD so it won't close.

I wanted to drop a line about Pelican's Face Armor. I purchased one a few weeks back, and I must say, I thought that it looked pretty sharp with the sleek black finish. The inside being cushioned was a nice feature for sure. I also loved the UMD disc covers. I think they are awesome. However, the day after I purchased this accessory, I gently flipped open the face armor, and guess what. The top right hinge sent a piece of the plastic flying across the room. The face plate broke apart from the hinge and mounting base. Luckily, no damage was done to my PSP. It still appears to me that the only positive thing about this accessory are the UMD covers, but I cannot justify paying $10.00 for 4 UMB disc covers. I would caution to stay away from this accessory. See-ya!
90
I like it. It covers the face of the PSP nicely and because it's inexpensive, it makes it a good buy. I did end up having to buy another one because my 1 year old son grabbed ahold of it and the hinge piece broke. Now I have an extra faceplate piece just in case.
85
I got this the day after launch to protect the face of the PSP. For what it does, I think it is pretty good. It's not supposed to be like the PlayGear Pocket or any other case; it's just there to cover the face of your PSP and protect it from anything scratching the top of it. In that sense, it does it's job very well and is worth the price.
It's NOT there to protect the PSP from falling on the ground or someone stepping on it. A hard case is better suited for that.
10
Do not spend your money on this hunk of plastic.
The Pelican Face Armor looked cool on the picture, I mean I really thought I needed it. Then I got home and opened it and found out that It connects to your PSP with two HUGE screws that screw in at the top by the usb spot.
With it screwed in it gained 1/2 an inch in height and it also became more bulky. I couldn't fit it in my case. And the times I could barly fit it in the case I would worry that it would break the games I had inside. FYI: The case I have is designed to hold 4 umd's and your PSP comfortably... With the Pelican Face Armor on I could barly fit my PSP in with just 2 UMD's.
The Plastic is very cheap. After one week It was cracked, full of scratches, and most of the black paint had scratched off.
The inside of the Face Armor isn't any better. There is a pice of cloth designed not to scratch your screen, which is the only good thing this there is on this thing. But it isn't all good. The screen collects every pice of dust possible. When you flip it open your PSP is COVERED in dust.
Gameplay: Playing a game with the Face Armor on is very hard. It gets in the way of the sholder buttons.
Stylish: This thing may look stylish a little bit in the pictures but if you see it on your PSP, and you see those massive screws, and the paint is almost gone and it's full of scratches, you see that this thing is very ugly. I was ashamed to have people see my PSP with it on.
Overall: This thing was not worth one penny! DON'T GET IT!!!!!!!!!

When I first bought this I would have given it at least a 95, but 10 days later it broke! While it does look nice you should never judge a book by its cover. You may ask "but will it protect my PSP?" and I say yes it will for the 1st 2 weeks! Then the hinges will snap, and it won't protect your PSP! So if you want to protect your PSP, spend a little extra money and buy the Playgear Pocket which will protect your PSP.
46
Okay, this, in essence, is a thin piece of plastic that screws into your PSP that fold down to protect it, and maybe block out some sun glare. It got the job done, but unfortunately, it broke within the first week. In addition to this rediculous lasting timeframe, it broke INSIDE a padded carrying case (not the PSP included pouch). In my opinion, the plastic was WAY to thin, and cracked with the slightest pressure. Remember, it's your precious PSP and it's screen that it's cracking onto, so be careful. Also, for your information, cracks equals sharp edges equal stratches equal bad. Luckily, I got a refund, and will use it to try the new playgear visor. In conclusion, if you want something that not only protects your PSP but itself, spend your money elsewhere.

The Pelican face armor is a light weight, smooth, black cover that protects the screen & buttons of your PSP. The face armor is screwed in on the top of the PSP for a firm attachment, making it hard to come off. Its made out of a durable plastic, the interior of the armor has a cotton base padding so that your screen won't get scratched.
Pros
Stealth look when closed (Attached to the PSP).
Comes with four clear UMD jackets .
Can be used as a visor to block out light.
Protects your screen without taking up room for best pocket fit.
Cons
The screws over time can wear & cause damage to your PSP.
Due to pressure, the edge of the face armor can grin agaisnt the side of the PSP while its in your pocket, making visible marks.
Over time, the armor will open loosely & making a possiblity of breaking off after excessive abuse.
Earlier models have a defect in one of the screws.
Overall
The Pelican face armor is a good product, made so you can protect your screen & slim enough to keep your PSP in your pocket. The face armor wasn't made to handle much abuse & the UMD jackets can scratch the outter shell of the UMD itself.

I enjoy it, it looks nice. Sure it's not protecting the whole thing but I bought it mainly because I keep my PSP in my pocket. It saves me the trouble of dragging a care around luring people who look at it and might want to steal it. Although people say the hinges are cheap I did have some trouble getting the PSP in. I think as long as you don't spaz it in you shouldn't have trouble with it screwing up your PSP. It looks sexy and it does the job. Don't waste money for something you can get cheaper it's like saying an iPod is better cause it's more expencive. Overall, good product and for that one guy who said it doesn't fit -- you slip it in from the bottom foo, no problem though I did the same time and tried to force it in from the front.

The Pelican Face Armor screen protector is not the most elegant of solutions, but in the words of Han Solo, "she might not look lke much, but she's got it where it counts, kid."
The Face Armor attaches to the PSP via the threaded holes on either side of the USB port on top of the unit. The metal thumb screws hold the cover tightly, but do add a bit to the profile of the PSP. When closed, the cover provides protection for the entire face of the PSP including all of the front buttons. A thin layer of neoprene on the inside of the lid prevents the cover from scratching the PSP.
When closed, the shiny black surface of the Face Armor cover matches the sleek polished look of the PSP. The cover has three positions: closed, half open and fully open. When half-open, the cover functions as a sun visor.
For 10 bucks, you really can't go wrong with the Pelican Face Armor. The only real downsides to this product are that it doesn't provide any screen protection while you're actually using the PSP (no see-through cover), and the thumb screw mount will make fitting the PSP into a form-fitting case a little difficult, if not impossible.
It's not the perfect solution, but the excellent price makes it a great value.
Pros
Attractive look when closed
Provides excellent protection for entire front of PSP
Neoprene lining prevents scratches when closed
VERY affordable
Cons
Does not provide protection when playing games
Mounting bracket adds to PSP profile

This thing could have been good, had they not made it of cheap plastic. I've had 2 break on me, just from being jiggled around in my backpack, this would not survive a fall. Its a nice idea, but you can find better products that do the same thing
62
It kinda breaks the threads for the screws. I had one for awhile and it was awesome. I didn't have to worry about bumpin into people in the hall with it in my pocket at school. Now, the stupid screw wont go in, how dumb is that. And since the stupid thing broke my threads, I can't screw in any other protector or speakers or that new keyboard from logitech coming out. =(
60
This product seems ok when you look at it from the start, but it really isn't worth the ten dollars. After a week or two the hinges holding the screen break, so you can't even use it.
69
This was the first accessory I purchased for my PSP on US release day. Investing hundreds of dollars into my new toy, I wanted something to protect it.
I thought the Pelican Face Armor looked like a good investment. The device is basically a flip up shield that protects the top of the PSP. It attaches on the top and fits into the screw holes. While on, it still allows access to the UMD door but covers up the USB port, so you cant sync the PSP while on. It makes it a bit more bulky than the PSP alone, and while it can still fit into the soft pouch that came with the PSP, it is a pretty tight fit, having to coax the PSP into the pouch.
The Face Armor flips up allowing clear view of the PSP screen and then flips down to protect the device. There is some padding on the bottom of the Face Armor to keep the plastic from touching the PSP screen. It does a good job of protecting the PSP's screen, but would not do anything in respects to total protection. The PSP is still completely unprotected from falls or angry animals.
I had an issue where the left screw on the Face Armor did not fit into the PSP after a week or so. I had to exchange my PSP for other reasons and it fit into the new one, but after a month or so it felt loose and could be pulled out if I really wanted to. Talking to employees of my local store, they said that this is a problem inherent to the Face Armor.
The shield itself flips open but cannot be used as a sun visor to play in bright outdoor light. It doesn't flip around to prop the PSP up for movies. Realistically it doesn't do anything to protect the PSP other than protecting its face while it's not in use.
The pelican face armor comes with 4 UMD cases. These clip over the backs of the UMDs and keep anything from getting into the hole. The downside is that they don't fit in the UMD case. So you can use the original UMD case or these. I personally don't use them, wanting my games to be better protected in their original cases.
In summary: There are better accessories out there that do everything this does and more.
75
I bought this because when I first got my PSP I thought it would help if I were to carry the system in my pocket. I did carry it in my pocket for awhile and the cover did help. There is a small amount of padding that keeps the cover from scratching the face. It only added a small amount of bulk and looks pretty good.
The big problem I had with this cover are the screws that hold it on. The screws are big on the top and they restrict the UMD door from staying latched. Also, you cannot use the cover to prop up the PSP to watch movies.
If you are just going to carry your PSP in your pocket and don't want a lot of bulk, this may be for you. It does look good, except for the screws, and it does a pretty good job of protecting the face. I would recommend getting something a little better in the "whole system" protection area.
80
I bought the Face Armor for 10 bucks (which isn't a bad deal). It protected the screen very well. There were no scratches on the screen. The Only problem I had with it were the screws. If you tighten it too much the UMD port will not close, and if you continually open the Face Armor the screws will losen and you find yourself tightening the thing over and over again. Overall the product does what it is made for.
1
You may find the score a bit harsh, but I don't give something worthless anything higher. Had I reviewed when I first got it, I would've wrote some great things about it, but after awhile the left screw won't hold anymore and it is worthless. A waste of 10 dollars, and not worth the two weeks it worked for.
80
As much as people bomb on the DS, it always had one up on PSP, and that is its design. the folding "clamshel". Finally I get this product and I am happy, it allows me to "shut" my PSP to avoid any further damage. The only down side is that you cant really use this with anything else as far as accessories are concerned. The screws are huge, and if you over tighten them the UMD door wont open. All in all this is a good low priced "clamshell". I recommend it to all the cheapies who haven't gotten the Logitech PlayGear Pocket.
45
Screws are extremly hard to tighten, yet constly come loose. Plus some of the glue that holds the "neoprene" to the plastic leaked out the side and got on my PSP. The UMD things horribly scratch up the plastic UMD case but keeps the actul disc safe. Basically it keeps scratchs off the front of the PSP. Also, it feels akward playing games with it flipped open because your PSP feels top heavy. Good if your PSP spends most of its time in your pocket but if you put it in a bag every day don't get this.
70
OK, I like this Face Armor because it protects the screen. It's sleek, form fitting, and allows protection while the PSP can still fit into other cases. BUT, the hinge sucks. It's about to unglue itself and have the thing break after about a week of use. It doesn't do much to prevent dirt and stuff from sticking to the screen so you would still want a screen protector for it. This is not the ideal case for someone that wants a minimal sized case. I bought it so I could use it with the Playgear Pocket Street. Hopefully it will fit. But seriously, this really isn't worth getting. It also says it protects against glare. IT'S A LIE. I tried it outside under an umbrella and it still sucked. DONT BUY THIS.
20
Oh my God, my UMD hatch is busted! Oh wait, it's just this retarded faceplate.
The first thing I noticed with this thing is that the bolts used to attach it to the console interrupt the function of the UMD hatch. It will stil open (with difficulty) but will not close properly and will eject a game as you try to close it. Even after you've attached the thing and made peace with it's annoyingly interruptive nature, you realize that the flap will NOT stay over the PSP. It just flops around pointlessly. I guess it looks cool when it's doing its job, but that's a rare sight. Stay as far away as possible. No, actually, buy it and destroy it so no one else makes the mistake of buying it.
40
This face protector is very low quality and dosen't even seem to fit the PSP that well. The hinge for the protector is very flimsy and can break very easily. And the foam on the inside of the cover wasn't even put on straight. But at least it came with 4 decent UMD cases that protest just the backside of the UMD.
30
I was hoping to add some slickness by purchasing this glossy piece of work. However, I cannot close the UMD door properly, and I also had a hard time screwing in the 2nd screw, which caused the aluminum cover on the top where the usb port is, to lift!! It's a good idea, BAD design.
84
I wanted something that didn't change the look of the PSP, but also protected the screen. It's perfect. Also provides some shade for better viewing in sunny spots.
20
I bought this unit and was dissapointed. The design has major flaws. The main one being that the screws aren't long enough, and can easily unscrew from the unit. This happened to mine, and after it fell out, the screw managed to scratch my PSP screen.
46
Looking for a simple, inexpensive cover for your precious PSP screen?
Keep lookin'.
This is what it is: bargain basement. The cases it comes with are cheap and aren't prefectly fitted to the UMDs. The Screen itself, while innovative, is annoying to put up and down and is a hassle in general. To put it on, you have to position it perfectly and nail it the first time. Not as easy as it seems. And if you want to open it, get ready for some awful ear-killing noises, as it SQUEAKS obnoxiously.
I must give it near a 50 because it does as advertised; it covers the face. This is not a recomended product.
92
Really, this thing is great. It protects the screen while still allowing you access to all of the necessary ports and buttons. It's best used in conjunction with another case, however, like the all-in-one cases available at Gamestop or EBgames that can hold a few UMDs, charger, and headphones, since said cases provide a bit of padding around the rest of the PSP. Altogether an awesome buy for only $9.
95
I bought this and haven't had a problem with it like a lot of other people.
I can use my USB cable no problem, the screws fit in just fine, and it hasn't caused any scrathes on the screen or anywhere else on my PSP.
90
I was looking for something to protect my PSP. Sure there are tons of covers, slip-ons, etc... for the PSP. Some are too big, some are constructed poorly, some are too expensive, blah, blah, blah... For my needs the Pelican Face Armor was just right. It has a small form factor so it doesn't radically increase the size of my PSP. It's not going to put German engineers out of work because of it's build quality, but it's good enough and for $9.99 what do you expect? As a bonus, the package included four UMD disk protectors. Nice.
25
For the money it was not worth it. First of all, one of the screws at the top were defective and couldn't reach into the little screw holes of the psp and screw in, so it would try and swivel on the one that would screw in. It wasn't the PSP, because the good screw worked in both holes. It blocked some of the openings and ports at the top, it made the PSP not quite fit in the case I have for it. Good idea, bad execution.
75
This was a cheap PSP cover, but you have to unscrew one of the bolts to open the disc slot. Considering how much this is and that it does not interfear with the USB or power cable, and has little or no impact on serious gaming, this is a great tool. Only problem other than the disc slot issue is that holding the system sideways to view some images can be...interesting...
1
$9.99 down the drain! Didn't fit on my PSP!
89
When I originally got this item, the main reason I even got it was because I needed the Disc Jackets, and because I had a 20 dollar gift cert to waste. This item only cost 10 dollars, and comes with 4 game jackets, a very good value!
The jackets are clear, and only cover the bottom with the hole, and slip right on it to keep dust and everythign else out, they are a great value!
The face-armor itself could use some improvement. First of all, if you screw it in too tight, then the UMD latch will not be spring loaded anymore, and will 'click' positions. Not cool, a simple unscrewing just a tad fixes this, and is not too hard or a sacrifice at all. Also, the outside edge doesnt have padding, and I think this resulted in minor scratches along the edge of the PSP, but they were probably caused by my keys anyways. The hinge is a little cheap, and is a pressure hinge made by plastic, but with two drops of house oil it works fine. The only problem I have with the hinge is that it doesnt close tight enough. If you hold it upside down, gravity will crack open the armor off the face about a 1/4 inch, but if its in your pocket, its really no big deal.
That being said, I love this product, and would be willing to pay 20 if it were a little better made, (also the USB is a little hard to get on with it attached), but it is VERY useful. A case from intec or the sock are a bit too big for my pockets, and the PSP is definitely not going in there without protection, and the screenarmor is PERFECT for that. Its a very nifty little thing thats only ten dollars, and worth it, although I wish quality were a bit more of a concern.
A very nice product, I recommend this greatly, but the quality drags it to an 89, just short of an A, because its there, the idea is GREAT, and its also very nice to have, but I want a better product if possible.
70
This is a great idea made poorly. Let me explain......
This is a cover that screws on to your PSP. It has a hard plastic flap that covers the entier face of the PSP for transprtation. It looks great. The problems arise when putting this all together.
The screws on it are too long, and when you screw it in all the way, you cannot open the UMDs. I fixed this by putting a 1mm washer between the two thumbscrews, and the PSP.
Next problem did not come about until I tried to plug in my USB cable. It covers the USB enough to not allow you to plug in with the cover attached. So you have to take it off the PSP or modify the case itself. I did not give up though. I used a Dremel tool, and put on a sanding barrel. It took about 8 passes (3mm) of the dremmel to take off enough material to clear the plug.
The only thing that I did not modify is the faceplate itself. This thing also came with 4 cases for UMD disks. They work flawlessly, and are clear. It is nice to have these, and really help the score since they are really just an added bonus.
Now I love it. Pelican should trally look at redoing those 2 aspects. If it would fix them, this would easily be worthy of a 100 score.
Since I had to correct what they apperently overlooked... i cant give it that great of a score.
80
I have to say this thing is not as bad as some people make it out to be but its not great either. The first thing you will notice when you buy this is the cheap plastic which seems to be a very cheap mold because mine had little plastic strings hanging off the plates edges. But its still strong enough to protect the PSP from scratches and bumps but not from any sort of drops. Installation was easy you would have to be pretty dumb not to be able to get it on. I also have a feeling they made a new version also because Ive screwed the screws on tight and it hasnt messed with my UMD opening at all. Others have said it blocks the USB hole also which mine doesnt so Im thinking pelican may have 2 versions of this case. Now for the drawbacks besides from being cheap plastic the case doesnt act as a stand which sorta sucks. Another drawback is when your flipping the case back and forth a piece of plastic in the hinge will split alittle bit which doesn't make me think the hinge plastic is that durable. Another annoying thing is after you put it on it wont fit into the psp case that came with your psp which was sorta a drawback for me since i bought it to protect the screen from sonys case.
Overall I give this Case an 80 it would easily get 100 if the hinge and face plater were a little higher quality.
60
Its a great idea for protecting that screen. i was using this and then putting it into the sony soft case. untill the screww stripped and now it doesnt stay on..
34
This little item though claiming to protect the PSP does not do its job correctly. After only 2 days of use this thing started to show light scratches on the edges of my PSP. This is caused because the inner foam does not go all the way to the edge of the so called "Armor". I would almost feel ripped off if it wasn't for the fact that I can use it as a stand, and it also came with game cases. I still would like to warn everyone not to use it as a protector.
95
This is a must have, along with the jackets. My local game stores have a hard time keeping these in stock.
30
A previous review mentioned that the screws were too long, and interfered with the UMD door. Well, through manufacturing inconsitancies or a "shorter screws" version of the cover, They aren't long enough. One of the screws goes in fine. The other one has to be pushed in pretty hard to even reach the first thread in the PSP.
Once it's in, the fun begins. The latch on the PSP that holds the UMD door closed, will not spring shut. I have to manually move the latch to close the door. I'm replacing it as soon as something else comes along. The UMD protectors that come with it are cool. i'd buy them if they were sold seperately.

I purchased the Pelican Face Armor at Malmart for $8.96 which is not that bad for a PSP cover. It became apparent to me exactly why this "armor" was so check the second I opened the plastic.
The casing hold the Pelican Armor cover and 3 game cases which are clear plastic and protect the back of the PSP games from dust and scratches. The cover feels VERY cheap which is similar to most pelican products. I screwed the cover on and examine the form. The cover is cut with the same shape as the PSP which was one of the more important factors for me when it came down to a case.
I opened the case and assembled it in my car. As I stepped out of the car, I was astonished to see my sleek black handheld was screwed to a dull purple cover. The cover in true light has a purple glare to it which is far from the "PSP finish" the box describes the cover having. Inevitably, it protected my PSP from scratched, which is evident from the swarls which have already began to appear with only 3 hours of use.
Aside from the color problem and quality issues, the PSP Armor Case doesn't sit flat on the screen. When closed shut, the case springs up a good 3mm, leaving ample space for dust and sharp rocks to scratch the screen. The Screws with screw to the top of the system pervent the PSP from fitting in OEM case so the back is now left bare. Also, if tighten like it should be, the PSP screws jam the UMD slot from opening.
All in all, the PSP Armour Case does in some way or another, "protect the screen" but at the same time, it's a total pain. I wouldn't recommend this product but if you're desperate for a case other than the OEM and you have $9 to BURN, and I mean burn with fire because that's what you're basically doing, go buy the Pelican case.

I bought this and returned it.
I don't remember having the same problems that other dudes had but I returned it because I found it unnecessary. When I'm playing my psp it it is in my hands. When I'm not playing it I put it in it's travel case which protects the front and the back.
Plus it doesn't cover the back and uses up my two screw holes which I might need for accesories later.

I threw mine in the trash after spending 5 minutes trying to even screw the thing on. It just did not fit the psp properly. How can someone sell a product that requires the end user to 'modify' it to make it work? .. I would have taken it back to best buy in disgust, but I kept it because of the umd sleeves .. at least they didn't mess those up .. I am not buying another pelican product ... not impressed
I only gave it 10 becasue of the sleeves ..
