How anyone can see this as anything other than a perfect UMD storage solution is beyond me.

Given the choice between a $2 metal case and a $4-$15 cloth/fabric case, how can you justify putting your disks in anything else? Got too much money? Aren't all that interested in protecting the disks?

Considering the strength of a cylinder, you could probably stand on these tins and not crush them (from the top, that is ). Which means that anything that can harm your disks inside it has likely already damaged your PSP or you.

The only downside I can see is the danger of accidentally throwing away 5 games. Of course, if you mark the case, or look in it, this isn't an issue.

I've got one in use right now, and one in waiting, and can't imagine using anything else.

I just couldn't justify the size for how many games it held....now maybe if it was an acordian style pouch, games seperated by some material, with a zipper - where I could flip through the games instead of moving 2 to get to the one on the bottom the can. I totally remember something like this when I was a kid - a coin purse or something. + I just stopped using my pretty quickly. But it's worth trying for the price you might like it.

Do not get this case or put any of your games in it. One day I put it in my pocket with 2 games, and after a short walk, I decided to play one and when I checked it, one had several scratches on the bottom and the other had scratches on the top. They still work, and the scratches are merely cosmetic.

Best case on the market. I just use mine to hold 3 UMDs and they fit easily and firmly. It is like it was made for the sole purpose of UMD transport! Also, try out a bubble tape case if you are into the plastic feel, it holds 3 UMDs too.

99
I was reading how others didn't think it was good enough because it wasn't lined with fabric to protect the UMD's. All you have to do is cut up an old T-Shirt to line it! Also you could sew in flaps to put between each UMD ( or have your girlfriend or mom help with that!). For a $1.50 it's the best case out there. Aluminum cases are expensive in general. I am sure Altoid sales are booming now!

99
I cut out an old cleaning cloth and stuck it in the bottom for protection.

99
I have just recently got this case and its just sweet. It looks cool and it is an alum. case! Although its is no real "padding" in it, I don't really need it. But if you the kind of person who likes to throw their $50 inverstments at things, then you might want to get a more padded case. But this is a great, cheap, and useful alternative the to the plastic and other cases. I can only snuggly fit 3 in it and my headphones but thats all I really want in one. So, in conclusion, its sweet!

99
Great way to transport games, and no necessity to ever purchase a UMD case, plus you get sour candy from England, how great is that??

80
I've tried this out and it actually works. I've only crammed in three umds and they fit alright. I wouldn't suggest putting in more although people say that you can. I think a big advantage of this case over a real umd cases is that this is hard, cheap, comes with candy, and can trick potential thieves.

Buy it for sure, even if you have no interest in eating the candy inside.

78
It works but it is pretty ghetto. Unless you use padding like tissues or cleaning cloths your UMD's will slide around. I think that if you had to use this you could. I only use it becase I spent all my money on GTA:LCS and would recommend it for any cheap-buns gamer.

97
This so called "case" is really good, I only have 3 UMD's and 2 memory sticks. I can carry them all in one small, convenient case.

96
This is beyond a doubt the best game case there is. Also, you get good-tasting candy, too. If you want, you can even color-code it depending on the color and flavor of the tin; for instance, purple for racing, orange for shooters, etc. You can fit in 3 of them safely, and you don't have to pay extra for one of those costly leather cases.

Saw this months ago and have been using a tangerine case ever since. Works great with 3 UMD or 2 UMDs and headphones. Got two cleaning cloths in it too. Too bad I cleaned out my desk right before I saw this article and threw out my lemon and raspberry tins. I'm gonna have to buy more I haven't had the candy in forever and it's practically orgasmic. I feel like such an idiot leaving this case in my desk holding Warheads (remember those? I found some 3 year old ones in my desk, not so good after that much time) for years when it could be holding my not yet existant UMDs. In the words of Comic Book Guy "Best Case Ever". Get some candy and then go buy a PGP and you'll be a happy PSP owner.

95
These are good case and are not that expensive. You could fit 2+ UMD's and a couple cleaning cloths. I only put 2 in. And a cleaning cloth in the bottom and and one on a top to help cushion the UMD's. Overall this is a good case that only cost 2 bucks.

This can only hold 3 UMD's and there is still room left over. It is bulky. IT BROKE ONE OF MY GAMES. People think they are the best cases because they are cheep and aluminum. They think it will protect your UMD's and games but it dosen't. If you don't have 3 in there then they slide all over the place. And it looks like it could hold 5 but it can't. So a $3 candy tin broke a $50 game. I would use a holder that was designed for UMD's. Don't get it. Very Crapy. Snaps and skratches your UMD's.

Well, If you can't afford those pricy UMD Jackets (5-10), or just flat-out do not want to buy them, get a cheap alternative - the Altoid Sours. I love it. I have Altoid Sours regularly and that means I can use it to hold my games! Very customizable, including skins that you can make off of Sony's forums. And, they hold 3 UMD's and almost a never ending amount of memory sticks. And you can even put in your headphones. I have to give it a 100%, because it's perfect, and it's not even made for UMD's!

99
This case is great! Everyone looks at me like I'm stupid or something, but it protects 3 UMD's and some other stuff, too. It is kind of attractive (at least in comparison to other UMD cases). It fits nicely into a purse or pocket. To stop the rattling that everyone is talking about, just line your case with the cleaning cloth.

94
Really a decent crushproof travel case for about 2 UMD's and some tissues for padding. I like it. You do need to pad it but it's great to just toss in a bag and not worry about breaking it.

94
I had a recent scramble the other day. While clearing my desk out, I threw out my Raspberry Altoids tin which had three of my games in there. After a little while I was craving Lumines, so I went to the box to get it. Not there? No problem, I'll check my Altoids case.

Wait, I threw it out. Because it sounded like it was empty and it looked like trash. I immediately ran to my garbage can and picked it out, finding the three UMDs snugly inside and happy as hell that it didn't make a trip to the garbage truck.

The point of this is, that while the Altoid Sours cases work for UMDs, there are BETTER alternatives. They work great if you need a makeshift case and don't have the time or money to get one, but in all honesty, these are not good enough to be a normal, everyday-use kind of case for your UMDs, unless you are extremely cautious.

Bottom line: Good temporary case, bad long-term.

95
These work surprisingly well. I don't see why anyone would have a problem with them. Since I only own 2 games and a movie I only had 2 in the container and I put the cleaning cloth between them for protection of the side of the disc with the game on it and so they wouldnt bounce around. It worked.

What's not to love about using an Altoid container as a game case. It holds 3 or 4 UMDs, smells nice, long after it's empty, you get a lot of great candy with it and it comes in different colors and flavors. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper than dumb REAL game cases.

99
I finally got my paws on some Altoid cases (one of each flavour I might add) and they do an amazing job! They hold 3 UMDs with absolutely zero problems (personally that is all I am comfortable with!). A perfect dust free enviroment that prevents your UMDs from getting scratched to crap, And for 3.99$ Canadian thats a steal! FYI to all you Canadians who heard about the Altoid sours and didn't feel like paying jacked shipping prices to order from the States or Europe or didn't feel like crossing the border just to pick these up, I finally found a store that consistently carries these little miracles across the nation. SUGAR MOUNTAIN!! Go there and buy these tins not only to protect your UMDs but because the candies taste GRRRRREAAT!

95
The case is solid, cheap, comes with candies too. You can also fit many UMD's. Even if you put just one, you can prevent rattling by cutting out construction paper and putting it on the bottom. Works like a charm! No flaws whatsoever.

95
Good for the gamer on the go, holds 2 UMD's and xtra Memory Sticks

95
Finally I got my hands on Altoids Sours - my friend brought me Apple and Citrus packs from his trip to E3 this year. What new can I add? Not more really - after the delicious taste of the contents we are left with the simplest and greatest idea for a UMD case. Strong and safe (metal), easy to open and close (but not incidentally), fitting 3-4 UMDs with ease - and all this for a mere 2$. BARGAIN. I was surprised they're made in UK, not US. So all you Europeans out there - look out for it at your stores !! It's really worth it !

95
Hands down the BEST UMD storage! Great to conceal what you have too. I would recommend storing 3 only.

96
Although the case works great and serves it purpose, unless you put in 3-5 games, you'll end up hearing the ratting sound of the games moving around in the case. This does no damage to the games, but can get slightly annoying at times.

99
The person who thought of this deserves a medal. I currently store all of my UMDs in Altoids Apple Sour cases. I mean, seriously, for just a tiny amount of money, you get a strong and compact case for your UMDs, not to mention you get to eat what is inside before the tin becomes a storage unit. Overall this has to be the #1 PSP accessory for the PSP, simply because it costs next to nothing, and I buy them anyway.

Pros
• The UMDs fit great. I don’t worry about them at all in this case.
• You get some candy with your UMD case!!

Cons
• I ate to many Altoids Apple Sours within 5 minutes just to empty my tin and test this out.
• After consuming about 20+ Apple Sours, I had some of it stuck in my teeth for the next 20 minutes, and couldn’t get that sour taste to go away.

Ok, I thought this was kinda funny when I read it, but when I tried it out I found it to be a pretty good idea, who would have thought that you could fit a UMD in an Altoid can? Although it's good I think I will keep to the bulk in holders in my case. Good idea though.

Awesome idea whoever dicovered this, I live in Canada so I went across the line today and bought 4 tins, they work awesome!. Im going to mask off the inside and get them powder coated at work (paint that doesnt chip).

95
For $1.50 you can't go wrong. Small, sturdy and compact these things are awsome. I love the look on peoples faces when I bust this thing out only to reveal my games instead of candy.

97
From what Iv'e experianced the game case is watertight, drop-proof, and holds these combos
• 5 UMD's and 1 MSD
• 4 UMD's and about9 MSD's
• 3 UMD's and a wipe cloth and a few mem. sticks( I only have 9 MSD's so i'm not sure of the exact # of ones that will fit with 3 UMD's and a wipe cloth SORRY)
• Or you can get creative and make your own combinations!!

Overall this little find is well worth a little over 3 dollars. Some game cases hold even less games for even more money so I personally would side with $2 and suprisingly good candy.

The apple sours are the best. There are multiple flavors which means multiple colored candy tins so you can have color coded cases --i.e.movies,games,cleaning supplies,MSD's. To fit 5 remember to put all UMD's in at the same angle and direction or you will have problems getting the UMD's out!!

I've also used Altoids sour cases to carry my PSP games. I can fit 3 games in perfectly, and they don't wobble around or get scratched up.

For $2.50, this is the best case I've ever owned.

80
There are plenty of indepth reviews already, so Im just going to toss in my two cents.

Other cases on the market go for $4-$9. The Altoids tin is $1.50 plus you get candy with it. This is really a no brainer. In my experience, the Altoid's case holds 4 UMD disks with no problem. Its a snug fit, but I dont have a problem with it. If I ever end up with extra memory sticks, I may go 3 UMD disks plus the memory instead.

Id like to find a slightly larger tim that could accomidate earbuds as well, but, for now, you cant argue with this case for the price.

I read about people using the sour candy altoids case for UMD storage the other day. I went out and bought the sour apple altoids to try this out. First of all let me say, it works great at protecting 3 games at most(comfortably). With absolutely nothing on the bottom it will fit 3. I tried leaving in the paper cushion thing that came with the altoids and it made it too hard to fit 3 in there. So with nothing on the bottom I fit the first two in easily, the third one slides and pops in perfectly keeping all 3 games firmly set in place. I did try more than 3 games and I did get one more game in but the fact that I needed my key to take it out took me away from the idea of cramming 4 or 5 in there. You could actually fit 5 without really chance of damaging too much, but it's easier with 3 and you have a little extra room for a small wipe cloth and or memory cards, probably up to 8 memory cards with 3 UMD's in there. I myself have the free wipe cloth from buying the pelican screen guard in my case, its a little smaller than the stock one.

Overall, I see this as truly a great find. I went to look at single cases at the stores today. Basically for around 10 dollars, you can get 3 singles cases or 2 cases that hold 3 each, both by the way arent as protective as the altoids container, but you may be able to find much cheaper ones online. So I went to my local longs drugs and found the apple sours for a little over 2 dollars. the candy is actually pretty tasty and you wipe it with some water and dry it, and you get a great protective, slightly water tight, UMD case for 1-3 games for about 2 dollars. That and you have the extra space for memory cards while eating some decent sour candies lol. Great find to film geek who originally posted about this, Altoids case for UMD storage get's a 9/10

One altoid can can hold 3 UMD's loosley and 2 more can fit in there quite snugly and minimize shaking and moving of the disks. They even come in different flavor colors so you can have all you games in tangerine and movies in raspberry.

PLUS the altoid sours are really good and addicting so if you buy one can before you know if you will have a collection. At about 2 dollars for one can that holds 5 UMD's thats cheaper than any other game case i have seen so far.
