I'll give this one a 50, because, if you can get it on right, it does pretty much what it says. I've bought 3 or 4 of these and only managed to get 1 of them on right. The others were filled with bubbles and tiny dirt particles that created bubbles. It comes with a "smart card" to push out bubbles. But unless the bubble is right next to the edge this little piece of equipment is virtually useless. I gave up on this product last week after I peeled one off to see a glob of sticky residue from the protector in the middle of my screen. Granted this didn't happen any other time I had put on one, once is enough for me. If you're looking for a good screen protector, try the "Invisible Shield". It is worlds better than this, or any of these types for that matter.

I bought this along with my PSP and it does exactly what it's supposed to do: prevent scratches. I have had it on for a long time and there are no signs of it coming off. To prevent air bubbles, use a credit card or drivers license to smooth and press the protector on. Great product!

If you can get it on correctly and without bubbles it is one of the best screen protecters. It takes a few tries to get it on right but you can, trust me I did. This is a must buy.

This protecter is the supreme god of screen protectors. The newer ones have a smart card you can use to take out all the bubles. Mine have none in it and its quite hard to tell if I even have one on. It protect against all those nasty little scratches. A must buy!

Pros
Nice semi hard plastic; will not flake or curl at corners
Good clarity (depends on which one you get - read below)
Easy to apply - no residue; easy to reposition
Cons
Matte version distorts clarity
Clear version has a certain degree of glare
Plastic attracts dust during application
I had bought this product twice. The first one I bought came in a matte finish. It was easy to apply - my suggestion is to use a well ventilated room. The matte finish cut down on annoying glare, but did cause a small degree of distortion. You get used to it after a while, but whenever I saw my friend's unprotected screen, it's like night and day.
I had my PSP replaced a year later and I bought another Pelican Screen Protector. This time, I got a clear transparent one. Again, installation was a snap, and there was a noticable difference in clarity - it was that good. However, I had to deal with reflective glare. I don't know about others, but it took me quite some time to get use to the glare. You almost have to position the PSP at the right angle to reduce the glare.
In any case, I recommend everyone to buy a screen protector. The Pelican version is top quality, and it all depends on which version you buy (note: there are no visiable markings on the packaging stating this, so your chances are 50/50).

Ny first review on this screen guard was rather harch because it reduced the clarity of the PSP screen. I had exchanged my PSP for a new one because the analog was malfunctioning. I tried the screen guard again (bought a new pair) and there was no reduced clarity on the PSP screen and there wasn't much difficulty in putting this sucker on. I guess Pelican improved this thing or something, but I am glad now that I purchased the Pelican screen guard because I heard Hori screen protectors went up to 10 bucks.

I have been using thr pelican screen protectors since I have owned my PSP and I have been fairly pleased with them.
The picture quality of thr PSP is reduced but it is not unbearable and after just a short while you will become used to it. The pelican screen guard does exactly what it is supposed to do though, it will protect you screen through thick and thin and that really is the bottom line. A 2 pack is $8.86 at walmart or you can pay that price or more for the Hori screen protector, I think I will keep on using the peilcan! I have a lot of trust in this product!

I didn't notice anthing different as far as picture is concerned, mine looked completely clear when I was playing. You could only tell it was on when the screen was dark. It was pretty difficult to apply though, considering how easy it looks.

Not too hard to apply, wipe off dust off the screen, align the guard, and apply with the squeegee thing... but what is the point of a screen guard if it distorts the screen? It went into the trash bin about as soon as I finished applying it. It did not leave a sticky residue on my screen though.

This screen guard is so-so at best. It applies easliy byt the clarity is poor. It causes a moire once apply making the screen look like is has lines. Like looking at factory tinted windows with polarized glasses.
If you are looking for good protection and top clarity go with Martin Fields screen protector -- You will not regret it.

This handy little screen protector protects your PSP's screen from the hazards of the world. Without one, my PSP would be a big scratched mess. The only disadvantage is that they are hard to put on. If you mess up putting it on the first time...it won't go back on with out there being a sea of air bubbles. Otherwise a great product that is a must.

Apparently there is more than one version of this product out on shelves--one with and one without glare protection. Whether or not one is an upgrade to the other, I'm not sure. The only way you can tell what you're buying is by looking at the features list in the back of the package, and seeing whether glare protection is listed or not.
I first bought the one without glare protection at Best Buy a few weeks back. I messed up on the application process, so I got a bit of dust stuck inbetween the screen and the film. Nothing big enough to hinder gameplay, but I told myself I'd pick up another one in the future to put on correctly. I had no problem with air bubbles, and the screen looked as clear with the film as without it. I was impressed with the product, really.
Fast-forward to today, when I pick up another screen guard at Best Buy... And the first thing I find is that instead of a clear film, I have one with a dull, hazy finish. No big deal, I guess. So I apply it on, and... ugh, what garbage. When I turn on the system, there's suddenly a rainbow-colored mesh pattern covering the screen, and everything looks squarish and pixellated. I applied a little pressure to see if I could iron the mesh pattern out, and even tried reapplying the film, to no avail. No more than a minute after, the thing was in the garbage.
Rating for the Pelican product with glare protection: 0/100. The one without glare protection: 90/100. If you can't find the latter in stores, I recommend picking up a Martin Fields screen protector, which is thicker and clearer than the good Pelican one.

It works. IF you have the skills to put screen protectors on, such as one person I know that has to put on a thousand a day for other people, so he helped do mine. He got it on almost perfectly, yet I was still dissapointed. It greatly reduced image quality, and everything looked extremely grainy. It's only plus is the durability. Needless to say, my helper got mad when he found out I took it off, but, anyway, you'll be glad about the protection, but you won't enjoy the view.

Get a grip people, this is only five bucks, can buy it anywhere, and it protects your screen, Would you let someone scratch your screen for 5 bucks a scratch ?

This sucks, I could not get it to get rid of dust and if you try to remove it the edges get distorted easily when you put it on don't buy this peice of junk.
20
Cheap for a reason. Under no instances purchase this product. It reduces the image quality, not to mention being very hard to apply without getting some particulate matter stuck inbetween.

One word - this thing sucks - hands down. Sad to say it.

Do not buy this product, simply because it is terrible. It is very hard to apply (dust easily gets under the screen and it isn't that flexible). It makes your screen very fuzzy, like there are suddenly less pixels than there really are. For example, in TM:HO, Axel's legs look noticably thicker and more square. The only thing that this product has going for it is it's durability.
10
This is probably one of the most frustrating things ever created, and once you figure out how do get it on, you'll wish you hadn't. Not only does it reduce your visibility, it makes the screen look dull. I also doubt it would protect you screen if you dropped it, so there is no real point.

After putting this on the proper way it is a very good screen protector. You can really see through it witout any dark shade or blur. It was worth all my money plus it came with a cloth to clean your PSP which I really needed.

At the PSP launch I got a few items to protect it.They were all Pelican products and I've come to the conclusion that pelican SUCKS! Don’t waste your money on these they ruin the screen resolution by giving it a grainy look.

I wanted something to protect my screen so I went out and bought the Pelican Screen Guard. It was easy to put on, but as I turned on my PSP the screen was all wrong . The screen was unclear and was distracting to play with. So I took the screen guard off. The thing was a waste. You're better off without a screen protector. You're better off buying a case.

This pathetic "screen gaurd" does it's job. It keeps your screen nice and scratch/smudge free. It isn't expensive, either. But, it murders your screen! It gives it these weird little lines which are very prominent on the menu and 2-D games (Lumines comes to mind). Luckily, the graphics of 3-D games aren't ruined as far as I can tell.
This of course seems petty, but you didn't pay $250(+) for the see-through shoulder buttons, did you? You were into the 16.77 million colors and the huge screen. So don't buy it. Put plastic wrap on, instead.
I wouldn't have gotten it at all, except the Hori I got didn't have clear directions and I ended up throwing the actual screen protecter away, rather than the plastic backing.

I've come to the conclsion that all Pelican products suck, so don't waste your money. The problem with these is that they made the beautiful screen look like crap.

Man normally Pelican has been good to us, the gaming world, but what a let down. This is a horrible product, in fact it does protect your PSPs' screen but to what degree? It greatly reduces the quality by an "ass load". Yea so if you can't order the Hori or Martins I don't recommend picking this up but if it does in fact come down to it, like it did to me, I assume get the product. After a while it does become bearable but you will notice the second you put on the product.

Installation is the same for any screen protector, fairly straightforward but hard to do without getting some dust underneath it. Air bubbles were easily removed with the included tool. It does reduce glare considerably but makes the screen look horrible. It adds a strange halftone? effect to the screen. It's hard to describe. Suffice it to say, it looks ugly. I tried to live with it until I found something better but after about a week and a half, I couldn't stand it anymore and pulled it off. I searched everywhere and eventually found the Hori protector at EB Games. The Hori protector is 10x better.

A while after I got my PSP I noticed how scratched the screen was getting so I decided to go and buy a screen protector. This was the only one in the store so I decided to try it. Applying the screen protector couldnt have been easier and I only have 1 very small air bubble toward the edge of the screen protector. The only problem with it is that when any color other than blacks takes up a majority of the screen it distorts the picture (ususlly on loading screens). But during gameplay it is crystal clear. Now I don't worry about my screen and dont spend half the time polishing it.

I've yet to find a screen protector that protects and doesn't have the pesky air bubbles. It's impossible to have a perfect screen with one of these so I've since taken mine off. As much as I love my PSP, I want to see the better picture. There are better alternatives.

This is an absolute piece of trash. Do not waste your time or your money on this. I saw this at Target, a 2-pack for about $8 so I figured what the hell, I'll go for it.
I got home, opened it up, and put it on. The installation wasn't that hard (which is why I gave this a '2' rating), but after I put it on I was shocked. I looked at the screen and I was baffled. It makes the beautiful PSP LCD-screen quality screen look like Antenna-TV quality. I ripped it off in disgust, vigorously wiped my screen with the cloth, and threw away the screen protector. Then spat on it.
Stay far, far away from this garbage. If you happen to see it in the store, even just a glimpse of it, start sprinting away from it. As fast as you can. Basically, I payed $8 for a piece of wiping cloth.

It definitly protects.
+ Protects the screen very well
+ Easly goes on
+ Removes without residue
- Makes your screen a little pixilated

I got these because I got an Intec PSP Starter Kit and the screen came with it. I didnt follow the directions and got air bubbles in it but it was very clear! This screen protector sucks. It has a "sparkly" hue to it and it takes away from the PSP's true resolution. If anyone has this I feel for you. I paid 8 bucks for it. I wish I didnt buy it, but I needed something that protected my screen. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

This is my second Pelican PSP purchase. The first was the flip cover with the notoriously short screws - went right into the trash. Wasn't even worth the time to take it back. This was a bit of a gamble, albeit another cheap one. I have to say though, that Pelican has the right idea - a very stiff plastic is MUCH easier to apply with no bubbles. I have installed these protectors on APple Newtons, PDAs, and iPods. Their reputation as being difficult to apply is well-deserved. However, the Pelican protectors are a breeze to apply - this is due to the stiffness of the plastic and the "applicator" are very, very good. I got the first one installed and it was 100% perfect.
Now, of course, there is the typical Pelican downside. Why they did this, I don't know, but the surface is sort of "anti-glare" and does make the beautiful PSP screen less so. I think they might have been thinking this was helpful, if I were to cut them some slack here.
In conclusion, they are very easy to apply, are of good quality, and in the end, they WILL protect your PSP for certain. If you are easily bothered by the not-so-clear nature of them, you might be really unhappy.

The Pelican Screen Guard is a low price, sleek alternative to protecting that beatiful PSP screen. In the retail package you will find two pelican screen protectors (thin plastic sheets with an adhesive backing that sticks to the psp screen), one credit card type applicator (used during installation to help smooth our bubbles) and 1 polish cloth (similar to the one included with every U.S. PSP value kit).
Installation is very easy, if you have ever installed a similar screen protector on a PDA or Camera LCD you will know exactly what to do. The most important item to stress is to make sure your PSP is as clean as possible and that you are working in as clean of an environment as you can. Once applied you can be confident your PSP screen can take minor abuse without worry.
So what could the downside be? Well unlike other screen protectors the Pelican Screen Guard sacrifices ease of installation for image quality. The screen protector itself is not completely clear and once applied degrades the image quality noticabley, what I can best describe as a "hatch pattern" or screen door effect to my eyes. If image quality and maximum protection is your main concern the Pelican Screen Guard is not for you, stick to a brand like Brando or Martin but if you need quick and readily available protection the Pelican Screen Guard is the only game in town.

Cheap, but ineffective. Image distortion is horrible, installation is a pain. I just ordered a Martin Field Screen Guard.

What most of the reviews have said are true this will make your PSPs screen look a little funky. It looks like your screen is covered in moisture, it makes the same effect that a drop of water makes on your PSP screen.
Installation is simple and these will definatly protect your screenm I have a few scractches on the pelican screen protecter already (at least I hope they're on the screen protecter). After awhile tho you won't really even notice as the screen protector changes to the screen so they're not that bad. I give it a 60 I would say get these for a temporary fix.

This is horrible, hard to put on, then even if you manage to, the image is distorted horribly. DONT BUY.

Degrades the image noticeably. It lasted 2 weeks on my psp and I took it off and threw it away. Very noticeable when I was looking at images because I scanned my text book and uploaded it onto the psp and had issues w/ the guard making it hard to read.

I bought the Pelican Screen Guard with my PSP at launch (a single one though, not the two-pack). My Best Buy was really pushing them and it seemed cheap enough to try out.
It comes with a little stiff cardboard piece you use as a squeegee to push air bubbles out, nice but a credit card would do. The screen applies very easily, installation was actually easier than when I tried a Martin Field's screen guard.
However I have to say DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. While it installs pretty easily, it negatively affects the picture quality too much. After installing, I was quite surprised that my fantastic new PSP screen was giving dark, jaggy images with this screen protector.
I thought I was seeing things, the distortion was so great, so I peeled back the corner of the screen guard to check (which I really didn't want to do because I installed it so perfectly and didn't want to mess with it). Sure enough, under the Pelican guard was my beautiful crystal clear image.
I immediately tore the screen guard off, tossed it in the trash and rubbed the microfiber cloth all over the face of my PSP. Thank god the screen guard did not leave any residue that was difficult to remove.
I reviewed the Martin Fields protector on this site as well, I don't recommend that one either because of installation difficulty. While I don't recommend the Pelican product, my general recommendation if you decide to purchase ANY screen protector is:
Take great pains and make the effort to install it perfectly ON THE FIRST TRY. Trust me, trying to RE-apply any screen guard is an effort in frustration and you'll end up with a dirty, dusty unusable piece of plastic with your fingerprints all over the sticky side that you throw away.
