OK, lets get down to business. THis game looks beautiful...that is all you can really say. The sprites are well drawn and move smoothly. So as far as graphics are concerned they are sharp (but you can probably counter this by saying that they arent 3D...yeah well?)
As far as game play goes...the game is pretty tight. Speaking of tightness though, the PSP D-pad is stiff as grandpa's back, cause that sucker aint movin. This obviously makes it difficult to pull off your traditional dragon punch (for streety enthusiasts) or thunder god fist (for those in the tekken realm). Thankfully there is an easy mode to counter this and make those moves a little easier to execute...THey are easier, but when you need critical timing to counter gallon who is breathing down your neck...i dont know about you, but I cant pull it off. Its just plain difficult to hit diagonal forward down because of the D-pad. In the arcade I can hit it no problem, but in the arcade I usually just do the normal dragon punch no problem...but I am not here to brag about my video game skills, basically to surmise...its a problem...it means you are going to have to be more defensive than you would like to be (because you cant counter accurately at critical times), and when you are mainly focus on pouring the pressure on when the enemy is done with their onslaught (fireball moves are easy enough to pull of so that is going to have to be your domain).
Anyway D-pad issues aside, the game moves well, and is fun to play. Tower mode is a nightmare...you will have to take advatage of the continue mode to make sure if you dont win as well as you would have liked to you can retart and beat the enemy perfect...if you can muster it.
That said tower is complete, but it only says 42%, which means you will have to take different routes to get to the top to get the missing pictures and stuff in the chronicles section.
Anyway guys, this is a good game if you can get past the D-pad control. Give it a chance...its difinately worthy of at least that.

I bought this when the PSP was released as it was one of the few games out. You have to have a Fighting game. It's a good show of how game ports of old school 2d games are on the PSP. I'm waiting for Tek 5 and DOD to come out. Vampire Chronicles spends most of it's time in my Girlfriends PSP which is cool.
