I bought some Decal Girl skins for our iPods last year, and they were outstanding. Bright colors, lots of designs, and goo-less removal.

When we tried to remove them, unfortunately, the skin itself was destroyed (stretched beyond recognition), but the device was unmarred.

So why haven't I got one on my PSP yet? Because, for an extra $5.00, you can have a custome skin made (you make the design, they print it) and I'm still working on mine.

In short, for the money, there is nothing more simple and more eyecatching you could do to make your PSP your own.

The reason I got one of Decalgirl's skins is their good coverage and durability. Of all the similar skins on the market right now, these cover all of the PSP's face leaving hiles only for buttons and the screen instead of simple square boxes around the buttom set of buttons and circles arounds the Dpad and the X,O buttons. The skin applies easily and sits on like it came with the system. It feels nice and defenetly protects your PSP from cosmetic damage. The only downside of these is the lack of holes for the light indicators and lack of holes for the speakers; however, the speakers play just fine even when covered so that half of the flaw is negligible. All in all, if you want slim and beautiful cosmetic protection for your system, this is the best kind to get, and if we kindly bug them about lack of holes, they might just fix that.

It was delivered pretty quick. Let me first say that I have a white PSP. So with these stickers it amplifies it's look.

Put it this way, if folks want to see pictures I'll upload it. But it's pretty much the same as those above.

Definitely worth it's money thanks to the looks and protection! Highly Recommended!

I picked up a carbon fiber skin recently. The quality was very good, and it fit perfectly. My biggest complaint, however, was that the carbon fiber print was a bit dull and didn't really look that great. It kind of had a yellowish tint to it as well which made it look cheap. I only kept it on for a few days before removing it.

For practical use I'd recommend it, but it really detracts from the overall look of the PSP.

I purchased this after reading on another forum about how easy these were to apply and how good they looked. Once I received it I tried to apply it myself and was met with little success (I am not good with making things line up, this is probably the cause of my problem with this item). Once I got help and it was properly applied it looks cool and gives your PSP a unique look. It also makes the finger prints harder to see (which is a big plus for me). Sadly, it covers up the speakers (doesn't hurt the overall volume though) as well as all the LEDs (you can see them if you focus, but it is rather hard to tell with a simple glance). Overall, if you are looking for that personal touch for your PSP I would definitely recommend this if you are good with these kinds of things.

This is a great product for the price. It was less than $10 from the Decal girls website. The vinyl is fairly thick and should offer significant protection. I have three children who get to play it very occasionally and I feel a lot calmer while they do with this and a screen protector.

Application is a little bit tricky but it is easy to pull off and reposition if you make a mistake. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, you do have to be careful not to tear some of the thinner areas. My only complaint is that it covers the activity lights. After applying it, I decided that I couldn't live without the light and peeled up the edges of the decal and made small holes with a hobby knife. I can see the lights now but it would have been nice if they were provided.

It's great for protecting the PSP. However, it misleads the buyer by making you believe that the product fits like the pictures they have on their website.

I ordered a DecalGirl's skin a week ago, a week later I'm pleasantly satisfied. The skin is everything I wanted and more. It looks good, feels good, and gives my PSP the surface protection it needed since I was getting tired of the "wipe, wipe, wipe" process.

First Impressions
The DecalGirl's skin lives up to their statements. When I first opened my package I found my newly ordered skin on a peel away sheet with instructions printed directly on the skin. Step 1: "Clean the unit to ensure it is free of all oil dirt and residue." Step 2: "Carefully peel the skin from the backing paper, removin the excess material." Step 3: "Apply the skin to the surface of the device. Press firmly starting in the center and work outwards to bond it to the unit." Step 4: "Save the backing paper - it's great to store the skin if you remove it later!" So, I followed all the instructions and voila, it went on so easily and fit like a glove. Now my PSP looked even cooler then before. (I didn't think that was possible.)

Protection
This skin definitely has made me a more confident PSP user. No longer do I wipe my system down after every use. I now know there's a protective layer and I simply can't see the fingerprints as easily anymore. (I have a white skin so that may also help)

Durability
Yet again this skin lives up to another one of it's features. Like their website and instructions state, the skin is reusable. And don't worry because this skin leaves absolutely no sticky goo behind. My experience with removing the skin was not without it's trama though. I was quite content with my first application of the skin. It wasn't on perfectly but I was happy with it. Then I came across some pictures of someone else who had a decal on their PSP and they had placed it perfectly. I then saw the true potential of how good it could look and decided to take a second shot. At first I had some trouble peeling it back because you really have to pick at it to get an edge to pull away with. Then I found that the decal bonds very storngly to the surface. You have to pull fairly hard to get it off. Now don't get me wrong, this causes absolutely no damage to your PSP and like I said leaves no goo, but because you have to pull with such force you may start to tear the skin at some of the square edges (around the d-pad and the screen). This is not at all a fault of the skin but a warning to users who wish to remove their skin for a later use. My skin is fine but does have a ever so small tear at the upper right hand corner of the screen cut out. So, pull slowly and with caution.

Downside
The only fault I do see with this product is that a few holes were not cut, ones for the two lights (power and wlan) and two for the unknown holes in the front which were thought to be the speakers but are clearly not. While this does not cause a problem because the lights can still be seen through the skin in dim light, it may cause a problem in the future if those two holes are used for something. I'm not too worried and I'm very happy with my newly added protection.

Conclusion
If you want some protection for the playing area of your PSP, or you just want a cool new look so your PSP can be unique from others then DecalGirl is defintiely for you. If you are tired of wiping your system down every two seconds then DecalGirl is most definitely for you. If you just like your PSP as is and don't want it to change then save your money.

Extra
The Logitech Playgear Pocket and the DecalGirl skin make an awesome duo. Both give extra protection and the ability to personalize.

I finally recieved my Decal yesterday after 2 1/2 weeks of waiting (paid by money order) I got the one called "Sexy Girl"

When I opened it, it looks just like a big sticker with cutouts for the buttons but no holes for the little power light etc. Applying it took me about 15 minutes. Just as easy to apply as they say it will be. It took me 2 tries and I just about have it perfect. The trick is to line it up on the top and then with the Start Select Vol etc buttons.

Overall, application was very easy and completely bubble free. If there are any bubbles, they are very easy to get rid of. The speakers dont sound any different with the skin on. The adhesive is very snug and does not leave any residue when taking it off. My only complaint is that there aren't any cutouts for the lights.

First off, I'd like to mention that these skins are exceptionally priced, at a mere $7.99+S&H. Not only does it look excellent, but it helps protect against fingerprints and light scratches, and your PSP will be easily distinguished from anyone elses. These look so good in fact, that every one of my friends that I showed it to actually thought that it was a face plate, and not merely a vinyl sticker placed carefully on top.

Setup

The skin is a bit difficult to get a handle of at first, and I don't really have any tips to help out anyone thinking of buying one either. I tried putting it on starting on one side and working my way to the other, but that just ended up off-center and somewhat diagonal. Then I tried from the top-down, and worked it little by little, but still had to re-adjust it bit by bit even after the whole thing was on. Thankfully the skin is completely reapplicable, and doesn't lose any of it's adhesive strength if you have to pull it off a few times. Another good thing is that just as the website claims, it leaves absolutely no sticky residue.

I've had the skin on for nearly a month now, and I pulled part of it up right before writing this review just to make sure, and the PSP was just as smooth as it was before I applied the skin. I live in Phoenix, Arizona as well, and was worried that the heat might affect it, and although I haven't left it sitting out in the sun (who would?!) it has been in my pocket on some fairly warm days this year, but it doesn't seem to have harmed it in any way. Also, if you want to remove your PSP Skin for whatever reason, you can reapply it to the backing that came in the package for safekeeping.

In Use

As far as sound quality is concerned, I can't notice any audible difference with the skin on. Whether this is because sound comes out of the bottom of the PSP, as well as the front, or because the skin is so thin that it doesn't really muffle the sound, or both, I'm not sure. Either way, in my humble opinion, there really is no sound issue with these skins. The only issue I see is that you may not be able to see your indicator lights (Power, Memory Stick, LAN, etc). I'm able to see mine, but that might be because my skin is lighter in color than most.

Overall

Overall I give this skin an 85. The material quality is excellent, the price is low price, leaves no residue, looks great and helps protect your PSP. Only a few minor things bring the score down, such as ease of installation and the fact that there are small areas around the buttons that which aren't covered by the skin.

One last thing. Decalgirl.com sells many of their skins on Ebay for cheaper than what their website charges. According to their online FAQ, this is because their skins on Ebay are mass printed using a slightly lower quality (5 year instead of 8 year) vinyl. To get the top quality vinyl, make sure you purchase from their website, and not their Ebay auctions or their Ebay store. You can also order custom decals from their site, as well as reversed decals, for use on the inside window of your car (or whatever else).

I picked up a few Decalgirl skins. I just finished applying "Crime Scene" to my PSP. Very simple to do. I agree with the other reviewers that it would be nice if it had cut outs for everything like the power light. I might just do it myself.

Their "no goo" claims are solid as far as I can tell. I had to remove and reapply the skin a few times to get it right and it came up perfectly. No problems at all.

Overall, very nice product. Definitely worth the price.

I bought the "Demonic Mitosis" skin, it looks really good. The skin is made out of vinyl with a special adhesive that does not leave a residue. Most people can't seem to grasp this and ask over and over so I shall say it again. When you remove the skin absolutely no sticky stuff/goo/residue whatever you want to call it behind. The skin was relatively easy to put on and bubbles were easy to smooth out as claimed by the site. However the one thing keeping this from a 100 rating is that while I was applying it the little bit of decal between the start and select buttons ripped. Although had I not been rushing it wouldn't have happened. Overall this is a great product.

Kick ass skin. I got the blue essence one and I love it. I missed a llittle while applying it, but i'll fix it later. It looks amazing. I got one for my ipod as well. highly reccomended to make your PSP stand out from the crowd.

The skins by decal girl are fantastic. I have the crime scene one on my PSP. The only thing I wish they would add, is cut outs for the speakers.
