This game was not worth spending the extra money on. The game play is almost the exact same thing as the first one. They only added a few extra maps and cars and that's it. No new features or anything. After a while this game becomes repetitive like the first one.

This new version of Ridge Racer is to all lot of gamers, a let down. I look at it as a bonus of what Namco couldn't fit for the first installment. Yes, you get repeated material from the first PSP release, but there are hard core RR fans out there that will invest their well earned grip of cash for more classic tracks updated with current PSP technology including a new fleet of "Special" cars of which two have become instant classics in my opinion.... The Crinale Kid & Angelus Kid ( reminds me of the trick of turning the cars into "Super Deformed" versions from RRR ). You still get the perfect control response from first PSP game, and insane & solid frame rate you would expect from the Namco crew.

I'm sure that there are gamers who will disagree about this review, but for the RR fans & followers out there.... go and import yourself a copy and enjoy ! I know I am.

If you are a true RR diehard, get the Direct Audio Soundtrack. It's 1 CD in length, filled to the rim with insane RR music from the PSP game.
