I have tried some other ebook softwares for the PSP, EX. Jpeg Book, and I have found out that they are not as useful as this one. I will go through the features and tell you about this.
Ease of use
When you first open the program, it tells you to donate to Parablex, and it has a 10 second wait if you do not want to donate. It gets kind of annoying, but it is fine. The program lets you choose many things, such as portrait/landscape form, navigation bar, title bar, font style/size/color, background color/picture, etc... Everything is laided out in a easy to use format.
How to Use
It was first a little confusing, but I got it. You first have to load which ".txt" document you want to convert. File, Load text (source) file. Then you play around with the settings, like background color and all that.
If you want to put in a background image, just goto File, Select background image. Parablex also has a link on their site that you can download more backgrounds.
After you are done with all your settings, goto File, Select output source. Then you can choose where to put your eBook.
Finally, hit the "Build eBook" button, and there is a small textbox beside it. Type in the name of the book, and press "Build eBook", and the conversion starts.
Overall
I was worried that it would give me 500 images on my desktop, but the software automatically creates a folder with all the images located inside it. All you have to do after that is drag and drop your new eBook onto the PHOTO section of your PSP. Also, you do not have to worry about the book getting out of order because all the pages are numbered. But make sure that you have a large memory stick, because most books are about 50 MB. I used The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
This program is a great thing to use, and combined with link, it is amazing! This is a great alternative to a movie!
Simply put, this program is awesome. I had tried just settling with JpegBook, but last week I finally gave up on that program. I figured it would be a good long while until there was a truly useful eBook creator for the PSP, when out of nowhere BAM, here comes this program.
It may take a couple minutes to get used to the interface, but once you do, it's easy and simple to create an eBook within minutes. I've already created a few eBooks using works I've grabbed off of Project Guttenburg and I look forward to reading them.
The program has a decent amount of options that let you tweak the outcome of the eBook to your liking. Users have the option of viewing the book in portrait or landscape view, selecting a packed-in background image or creating your own, and placing a title on the header bar of the page.
Overall, it's a great program that I definetly recommend grabbing, especially since it's free as well.
