This game provides a fun take on the original three SW movies (the "good ones" . It changes the stories a bit for both humor and gameplay reasons, all to good effect (for instance, in a short cutscene, R2D2 doesn't wander away from Luke on Tatooine, but is stolen in the night by Jawas).

For me, it was a lot of fun at first, but that quickly wore down. I'm about halfway through "Empire" right now, and can't find the interest to finish.

At the start, it was fun to see all the Star Wars sets and characters rendered in Lego, but soon the novelty wears off and you have an oversimplified puzzle shooter.

The biggest problem I have at the moment is a bug that locks up my PSP every time (During "Escape from Echo Base", when Han, Chewie, Leia & C3PO try to board the Falcon)--I have to reset the device, and that puts me back at the start of the level. I'm sure there's a way to get around the bug, but I just don't find myself all that motivated to do so--not when there are better games to play.

One facet of the game that I don't like is that there are areas that are unavailable to you the first time through the game (in "Story Mode" . There are places, for instance, that can only be opened by characters you don't have available, or objects that can only be stacked by other characters. These were clearly added to leave you something to do in Freeplay mode, but rather than seeing it as extra content, it feels to me like artificial barriers put in the game to force you to replay it.

One of the big overarching goals is locating little cannisters that help you build Lego-style vehicles from the movies--the landspeeder, Jabba's barge, etc. This sounds like fun until you find out that the vehicles just sit outside the cantina. So, once you've built them (as far as I can tell) you get to go outside and look at them. No using the vehicles, or piloting them. Just looking.

Maybe if I were a bigger SW fan, this game would be more attractive. I thought I would enjoy it more, but it seems that Lucas (and SOE) has killed whatever interest and nostalgia remained in me for this world.

So it's fun for a while, but unless you are a big SW fan, I'd rent the game, play it, and send it back.

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is an airplane riding, gun shooting sabor slicing, action multplayer game. It includes Airplanes, Guns, Sabors, Robots, little guys, big guys, tall guys, fat guys.

This game has everything cut scenes, now you dont have to read everything they say. This game has stuff like from Star Wars:Battlefront 2. Lego Starwars plays and looks alot like the PS2 version. The only difference that you willl notice are some little glitches.

The graphics are upgraded as well, there are not many blocks either, the game looks great. The load times take about 25 to 30 seconds, when you see how good the game looks you won't even care about the load times. The sound is very updated to, there are only a few explosion sounds here and there, the talking is great too.

Multiplayer is only Ad Hoc, but you can use LAN connectivty to get updates for Lego Star Wars.
