It would be cool to be able to rename my movies after they have been compressed.

It would also be cool to be able to choose different compression settings per movie when I add them to the queue.

Thanks for the great software!

zigzag and nullriver,

Great job with PSPWare! I completely respect your commitment to continuously improving the product. I especially like your more recent improvements (v2.0.x) made relating to movies. Just to throw in my two cents, in addition to adding the ability to rename a movie as it appears on the PSP, and customizing the associated .THM file, the following are my thoughts on the ideal PSPWare to PSP movie solution.

Window 1: (Process - Initiated when a movie is dragged onto the Movie window)

[ ] Sync Movie (Places movie in drop box)
[ ] Convert Movie (Go to Window 2)
[ ] Make Movie 368x208 Ready (Runs script to validate a movie converted in another app is of the appropriate format and size, runs the file through patch process and then places it in the drop box.)

Cancel | Next (Go to Window 2)

Window 2: (Basic Settings)

Video Resolution: [320x240 (4:3), 368x208 (16:9)]
Video Quality: [Low | Med | High]
Audio Quality: [Low | Med | High]

Approximate filesize: ___ MB/hour

Advanced... (Go to Window 3) | Cancel | Convert

Window 3: (Advanced Settings)

Video
----------
Resolution: [320x240 (4:3), 368x208 (16:9)]
Frame Rate: [15, 29.97] (From what I've read, I believe these are the only two frame rates that will keep audio in sync with the video on the PSP. Though I may be wrong.)
Bitrate: [216, 384, 512, 768, 15000]
High-Quality: [checkbox]
2-Pass Encoding: [checkbox]

Audio
----------
Soundtrack: [English (AC3) (2ch), Espanol (AC3) (2ch), etc.]
Sample Rate: [48000, 44100, 32000, 24000, 22050, 12000, 11025]
Bitrate: [128, 112, 96, 80, 64, 56, 48, 40, 32]

Subtitles
----------
Language: [None, English, Espanol, etc.)

Cropping
----------
Top: [input value]
Bottom: [input value]
Left: [input value]
Right: [input value]

Video Preview
----------
(This would show a single frame from the movie with the area of the video that will be converted outlined. You may want to consider adding a feature that will allow the user to cycle through a few different frames in the video so that they can be certain they're targeting the desired area if they've opted to crop.)

Approximate filesize: ___ MB/hour

Basic... (Go to Window 2) | Cancel | Convert

(Note: To make the movie window even more intuitive, I recommend adding some text to each file that informs the user of which movies have been converted using PSPWare and which have been placed in the drop box. Perhaps changing the text which currently (v2.0.5) reads "Location: [filename]" to "File: [filename] Location: [PSPWare or Drop Box]" as appropriate.)

Again, great work folks! I look forward to using your app for many moons.

I think you should move everything in the Advance pane except "Sync Dropbox" to the Preferences menu, which is useless right now. And now rename the Advance pane to Dropbox and show the content of each dropbox and we could choose which files so sync...

I agree with XiniX, there should be a way to view and manage the Dropbox from with-in PSPware.

I tried to drop Blazing Saddles into PSPWARE and the soundtrack came out all funny. Like everyone was a chipmunk. I had to go to FFMPEGX and figure out that the settings had to be for MONO to make it work. Here's what I want: The ability to drop an ALREADY compressed file onto the Movie list and NOT have it re-encoded. There should be an option for that. Also, there should be an option for older movies that are in mono, to be able to specify to the encoder that it is a mono file and not stereo; cause it screws up the sound. Otherwise, I love this program. It's pretty genius. I second whoever suggested that there should also be a thing for specifying how much space an encoded file takes up.

I would love if there was a burn button so you could back up your movies to disk and then load them back so you could save hard drive space for us powerbook users

How about a little number that says the total in MB of what we have checked in all panes (Photos, Music and Video)

This thing is amazing... the 2.05 updated output to Above Normal & High Video look great! This little app has already paid for itself...

Now that I think about it, I really, really, really wish there were output settings in-between the choices given; A larger set of user-selectable bitrates would surely help, I mean it's almost a 100MB/hr difference between Normal and Above Normal. Now, I definately WOULDN'T recommend the use of sliders without fixed notchmarks as it would put way too much guesswork and trial & error to attain a desirable size/quality ratio. But surely more settings, please!

Not complaining tho... as it is this, product definately gets the job done right, and there's certainly NO substitute for as-advertised quality. Your code is poetry at it's best!

toodles,

Silly thing but it would be nice if there was an "EJECT PSP" button right there in the main window!
Keep it up!

How about drop down menus for selecting different genres of movies for instances you could sync you entire Family guy folder or you could have all you comedies organized together. If you want to see all the comedies you have open the drop down menu.

ebook by way of text -> jpg and/or pdf -> jpg. this is one of the few things i really would like to have on the psp but do not. it would be nice to arrange syncing in a similar fashion to the way movies are treated now.

also 'if' the psp gets some kind of built in browser, it would be great to have bookmarks sync between safari and the psp.

some kind of contacts management. i picked up pocketmacs ipsp software for that reason, but it worked so badly i've deleted it after wasting 10 bucks on it. do it better.
