I found these on the Playstation forums. Load them onto your memory stick and use the photo viewer to view them. Each image is exactly the right color for each transistor, so you will be able to see if there are any dead ones. I found out that I have 9 using these, all of which are only viewable under the black screen. Called Sony, and they agreed to replace it, but I have to send it in at my expense and the replacement still may have dead pixels. Oh well.

Thanks man! I'm pretty sure I don't have any dead pixels, but I'll check it once my USB cable arrives. =)

I also have a few good ol dead pixels. Thing is, they are never noticeable during games so I can definately live with it. What I plan to do is send my psp in to sony for a replacement later on in the year. That way any enhancements or changes they've made to the system, I will get. So that way they will have worked out all the bugs and I will get that benefit. I suggest waiting it out for any one who plans to send it in to sony

I thought Sony said that they were not planning to repair PSPs with dead pixels. Perhaps, in your case Venom, because 9 dead pixels is quite a lot, Sony had no choice. But if someone had 1 or 2, I don't think Sony would repair it.

I called sony today and they told me to play my PSP for a week or two and if it is interfering with the game or bothers me, i can send it back but i will problably get a dead pixel on a new console...overall i am pissed because i dont think its fair that i should have a screwy screen when someone else's is persect.

Hopefully by Q1 2006, the rate of each LCD screen having dead pixels (we're talkin' PSP here) will be extremely small; thereby, you can send in your PSP and receive one that has no dead pixels.

I had used the pixel test images to find dead pixels on my psp. I found a bad pixel on the lower left hand corner of my screen. All of the sudden it disappeared. I have looked over and over again with the test pics to find it and its definetely gone now. Has anyone had a dead pixel go away. Is this common. I now really have no dead pixels. I hope it doesn't reappear
