Hmmm very interesting. I downloaded one of my favourite PSP mag's this month, from link . When viewing it, scrollling down below the 6th page freezes my PSP. Could this be a new buffer overflow vulnerability found in 2.5 ? +

Underscore, to do the update you need to have your psp pluged in. the update doesn't run if you don't have the power cable pluged.

Why are you needing to name it properly? If you download from Sony, it's already named correctly. Are you downloading the update file from somewhere other than Sony?

I know the problem. Had it the 1st time I ever downloaded the update from the Sony site on my PC, and transferred it to my PSP.
You have to make sure that the update file is placed in the GAMES > UPDATE folder. Now you are going to have to add the folder yourself, through the Windors Explorer. (I'm sure you already know how to do that. ^^ UPDATE needs to be in all caps, to ensure the PSP actually recognises it.
That should fix your problem. ^^

Hello again. I called sony because my psp is totally screwd up now every 1 picture it freezes it also freezes on the web. I thought my waranty had expired but they said i had 14 days left, and i was so happt they are sending a new psp as we speak. FOR FREE I WILL GET THE NEW MODEL HEHHEHEHEHEHHHEHEHE.

Well not like a new generation you guys have PSP 1001 If you live in US. They fixed the stuck pixels and all that crap, and they are sending me Model 1002. I does not malfunction as much

at the beginnning of this thread you were all talking about something that could be very useful, but not any use to this site. go to any psp h-a-c-k (i used -s between each letter cuz it doesnt let you say the actual word) site and say what happened and say that it could be a buffer overflow and you may be the cause of the next d-o-w-n-g-r-a-d-e-r.
