Recently, somehow one of my UMD cases got cracked on the "readable" side of the UMD case. Luckily, I was able to move the clear piece of plastic back into place to where it doesnt seem to interfere with the disc spinning at all. Yet the game still does not boot at all. I can't see any visable scratches on the disc itself.. the little spindle thing in the middle of the disc seems to be intact, the case isnt crushed anywhere else... Anybody have any ideas on why the game wont play? Has anyone seen any instructions on how to properly replace or repair the UMD case? +

i had a similar problem. basically, i was trying to smash too much into my psp case, and almost ALL of my UMDs got damaged. basically, the clear plastic on one side simply got pushed down, so it interferes wth the spinning of the disk, causing games to not work. all i had to do when snap the plastic back into place. it's a delicate process, but it works. just look realy closely at your UMD cover and make sure it's in place. if it is, and it still doesn't work, i dunno. i thought mine was fixed, even though it wasn't, and it took me like 30 minutes to find the actual problem.

I'd call the company that made the disc and see if you could send in the broken one and get a replacemet.

send it in.. it may be a few bucks for the plastic casing

if you have the sample disc it came w/ crack it open gently, remove the sample disc and replace it w/ your game disc. it worth a shot if youo can pull it off

Sad story - "Daddy, I've lost my CD case. The one that has all the PS2 games in it. All 47 games." Ca-ching$.
Hint - do NOT use 'crazy glue' to fix UMD cases. Even if you avoid drips (almost impossible) the fumes will get all over the disk and ruin it. I wonder if packing tape (wide Scotch tape) could be used to hold the case together and not interfere with the mechanism.

I too have broken a disk. I repared it once and used model glue and that worked great. But then it broke again (don't know how), and worse. Now I can't get it to play at all. If anyone has a solution, I too would like to know it.
ie, anyone have success sending it back to the company?

you can slide the actual disk out of the umd case. if you pop it open at the top it'll pop open a little bit and you can get the disk out and put it in another case. i do it all the time, works for me.
