I posted this in another post, but just wanted to put it up here.

ffmpegx (and therefore PSPWare) seems to have issues converting movies on a system with DigiDesign's CoreAudio Driver installed. I have the version that comes with Pro Tools LE 6.4, FWIW. I removed it (by removing it from /Library/Audio/Plugins/HAL) it things went back to normal.

For anyone using ProTools and PSPWare on the same box, this could explain video encoding problems.

If anyone has a later version of ProTools, post your experience here. 6.7/6.9 is a paid-for upgrade which I don't need, so I cannot speak to anything above 6.4

I would love to know how the digi drivers effected the encoding

Digi's core audio drivers have always been the worst drivers and are notoriously known for not playing nice with anything that uses core audio.

the DigiCoreAudio driver is incompatible with ffmpeg (among other apps, yes).

Updating to the latest version of the DigiCore drivers will resolve issues.
