This has popped up in one occasion in MooPS and in another occasion in another unrelated program I wrote MooGUI. My website can be found at link.com
I have installed MooPS onto a pretty fresh install of WinXP SP2 with MS Antispyware, at which time I had no reports of the MooPS installer trying to overwrite files used by MS Antispyware. I will also try to install MooPS onto an old WinME machine to see the effects.
I have also run a full Antivirus scan of my development machine, nothing was reported.
I suspect it has something to do with the Windows Installer (MSI) Im using to distribute the program. Soon I'll just switch back to the old VB installer and maybe this might clear things up.
Sure MS Antispyware is Beta, but the flags raised are always cause for suspicion. I can say that I did not intentionally put spyware into MooPS. It could be some super stealth virii/spyware that NAV or MSAntispyware is not catching. I could be a false positive.
If you still feel uncomfortable using MooPS just uninstall it, run full scans of everything, or better yet dont even install it in the first place.
I'll report back after tests on other machines and using the old installer.
regards,
moobar
