I would like to use a DVD ripping application (i.e. Handbrake) to create files that are PSP-ready. I have had no luck in figuring how what parameters to use in order to generate an output video file that the PSP will accept. The only way I can get video into the PSP and recognized is to let PSPWare re-encode the movie.

This seems to me to be an unnecessary extra step if I could rip the movie correctly to begin with. The PSP presets in both Handbrake and VisualHub do not work with my new PSP Slim and the latest 4.01 firmware.

Any ideas or guidance on what parameters are need to rip for PSP without having to re-encode are appreciated!
