Hey, just writing to let you know about xvid4psp by winnydows, a PC freeware app that converts video for the psp. I have tried PSP Movie Maker, PSP Video 9 and the official PSP Media Manager and have always been bothered by the ghosting of the video. When I see the clarity and crispness of some in-game videos, I am thinking that I could be doing better with my video conversion. I had used xvid4psp to make videos for my custom firmware psp, but I realized later on that it has a setting called PSP 2.80, which makes an mp4 that you play from the 'VIDEO' folder. I tried this setting for my 'real' psp, which is at official firmware 3.11, and I can honestly say that this program blows away anything I've ever tried before. The reason for this is that it gives the user the ability to adjust the brightness, contrast and color saturation. I used the preset 'ghostbuster' and upped the saturation a few tenths, set the bitrate to the maximum available, which is at around 1450 kbps, and got a video that was VERY watchable. Just letting you all know since I haven't read much about it at this site, this is my choice app for converting video to PSP.

Thanks for the heads-up. I agree with Alucard..drop the reference to the brew next time. That said, I just recorded the 1st three episodes of Planet-Earth on the Discovery channel..and the better the conversion I can get ..the happier I'll be. If you haven't watched that show, you really should..it's got some unbelievable footage.

Sorry about the title, I can't figure out how to edit it. If you go to link you can get the latest version, as well as net framework 3.0, which you absolutely have to install if you want it to work. Please note that you must be using Windows XP service pack 2 or higher for it to run properly and please note that the programmer recommends that you uninstall all other codecs for it to encode your video correctly. Good luck, I hope you find something that works.
