After watching a few people play the new mario, I broke down and bought the new DS lite. I was always sceptical of the whole dual-touch-screen thing but I like it a lot. Infact, If it was multimedia capable then I would probably sell the psp (flame away) but I have both so no worries. Games are way more abundant than the PSP which is awsome. I was getting bored with the PSP as there were no games I really wanted to play anymore. Bought the following for it too...new mario bros, mario 64 DS, metroid, Goldeneye, and Sonic. Been completely hooked on the marios and the 64 for DS is great. While the graphics don't quite compare to the PSP obviously, the game play has been more fun than most and the games are definately longer. Still unsure of the touch screen...it works well in metroid as the "look" function...somewhat like using a mouse I guess. Being forced to use it to save a game kinda sucks....would rather just hit A or another button. I am definately a believer in the DS now, for pure game enjoyment its awsome and I would dare to say that its better than the psp. The graphics don't compare as well as the screen res but the level of fun has been more than I was having with the PSP. I am not an avid gamer either but I have been glued to it for a few nights since purchase....so has my fiancee and a couple friends of mine. Just thought I would share....don't count me out for the old psp though...won't leave my sites for awhile.

I sold my ds lite, I had it for about two months. I lost interest in the games pretty fast. I would be playing Advance Wars if I still had it, but it bothered me that my favorite game for the system was a 2D sequel to a GBA game. I think what convinced me most to let it go was the poor performance of the web browser (load times, inability to download) and disappointing video quality with the GBAmp. I guess I was trying to turn it into a psp. If Nintendo comes out with a stronger handheld that is more media friendly, I would probably get it. I didn't grow up with Mario, either, and the PS1 was a major part of my adolescence/young adulthood, so that might have a lot to do with my preferences in video games

pretty much...thats why I own both. But I now have around 30 nes games, 25 DS games and some music all on my DS....without voiding the warranty Wish I could do that with my PSP. I just wish sony would get their a55 in gear so that the psp doesn't die off....I saw over 25 used psp's at my gamestop...scary

there was 2 old ds's in the case but the guy said they traded them to get the ds lite like I have. But on a psp, you can't run the latest firmware and run that stuff or run "backups" of your psp games...without risking bricking it I might add. But we can't really talk about that here. I like both though, I knew if I sold the psp I would just want another...its cool having a portable device that mimics the graphics of a console.

ive seen plenty of used DS's at EBgames (including mine lol) it was cool and all but not too many games interested me. mario is fun for a while and then u get sick of him lol. i like more realistic shooter/bloody games (syphon filter). the DS just cant make good tps. metroid is decent but short.
