I have tried converting many different movies with PSPware, most were originally in .mp4 format, some .avi and some .mov videos as well... None have worked on the PSP. Am I doing something wrong? I am plugging the MSDuo directly into my powerbook with a Memorystick PCMCIA card, with a Duo sleeve adapter. I have a friend who has successfully converted a few videos with PSPware which play just fine on both of our PSPs. What gives?

Are you putting in the right directory? Are you encoding them at greater than 768 kbps?

they are in correct directory... PSPware automatically places them in the correct place. No I am not using greater than 768 kbps. I am using PSPware to do all conversaion and file management.

I just posted a thread similar to this. How have they not worked? Are they just not converting at all or are they not uploading to the PSP? The problem I'm having seems to be different than yours, but I'm curious none-the-less.

** Oops, I didn't see the other replys. So it seems like they at least uploaded to your PSP. Wonder whats going on with mine.....

They convert fine and play fine in Quicktime and in PSPware by double-clicking on the file. They successfully treansfer to the PSP, however it always says "incompatible data" and shows a questionmark icon.

did you format the memory stick first inside your psp? You must do that first. After it is formated by the psp you can directly put it in your computer or use the psp to write on it with a usb cable.

Yes, I have formatted the disk. As I stated before. I can successfully play videos formatted for the PSP - Just not ones converted with my copy of PSPware. A friend has made a few videos using PSPware and the work fine on both of our PSPs. I have 2 MSDuos, I have tried both and get the same problem.

Very strange... perhaps you don't have the same codecs installed on both machines?
